Pack a shoebox full of gifts for a child in need! Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse, delivers shoebox gifts and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children around the world.
Bring your filled shoebox to the church any time up until Sunday, November 8, and leave it toward the front of the sanctuary.
How to fill a shoebox
- Choose the age and gender. Mark the tag: boy or girl, ages 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.
- Add a "WOW" item that is age appropriate, like a soccer ball with a pump or a stuffed animal.
- Add smaller toys. No guns or war-related items.
- Add school supplies. Nothing too big.
- Add self-care items. No liquids, gels, or pastes.
- Add small special items. No candy.
- Pray for the child who will receive your box, and for their family.
- Optional: include a note for the child.
- Optional: include a donation of any amount for [The Greatest Journey](samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/the-greatest-journey/), a discipleship program for children who receive a shoebox.
Shipping is covered
Our church covers the $10 shipping cost for every shoebox, so you don't need to include it. Any donation you send with your shoebox, of any amount, goes to [The Greatest Journey](samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/the-greatest-journey/). You can give either of these ways:
- Include cash or a check made payable to Clyo Church.
- Give online at clyo-silverhill-gmc.church/give — choose Clyo Community Church and select the "Operations Christmas Child" fund.
